What's the deal with the "non-locking blade" option?
This is intended for regions such as the UK where it is illegal to carry a locking folding knife. I couldn’t forget about my friends across the pond while designing this tool! It is up to the consumer to check your local laws pertaining to knives/blades.
The non-locking alternative is a small modification to the blade (literally about 1mm rounded off of the locking edge. This allows it to operate more as a slip-joint knife. Still retains a nice detent to hold it open! Since this is alternative is based entirely within the blade and not the multi-tool handle, it is a very simple swap if you ever move to an area with different laws and want to switch from a non-locking to a locking blade.
We will confirm in a post-campaign survey if you need a standard locking blade or a non-locking blade. You can also message us and we will add a note to your profile ahead of time.

What are the specifications of the multi-tool?
Length: ~ 4.5” / 115mm Width: ~ 1.2” / 30mm Depth: ` 0.6” / 16mm Weight: ~8.5oz (Kickstarter configuration without scales) The handle and a majority of the tools are made from hardened 420 stainless steel. We use 440C for the default blade, an optional S30V blade can be added. The replaceable wire cutters will be made from hardened tool steel such as 154CM, not carbide despite their visual similarity to carbide cutters. If sourcing and manufacturing limitations require comparable supplemental materials, they will meet or exceed the quality and capabilities of these.

Are the large holes on the knife a weak point?
Although we have not had any failures/breakage at the thumbholes during development and testing, it has been a recurring concern of our backers so we are testing smaller cutouts! We aim to achieve the same level of ease of opening the tools, as well as providing a strong level of confidence in the strength of the tools.

Why is international shipping so high?
We have quoted several options and all of them were, unfortunately, this high. If we get a large enough order to a region and can ship in bulk to a local distribution center there, we can cut down on the shipping! If we manage another alternative to save money on shipping please rest assured that we will credit you back any overpayment of shipping costs!

Current Estimated Shipping Date: December 2021
We have a lot of steps between now and fulfillment! We are working early and quickly to ensure our manufacturing, shipping partners, fulfillment warehouses, and all the aspects in between will be ready when your multi-tools start coming off the line!
Last Updated At: 06/07/21What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
